Croton tiglium, commonly known as Jamal-gota in Hindi, Marathi, and Urdu, possesses highly toxic seeds with a severe purgative effect. However, in Ayurvedic medicine, these seeds are used to treat constipation after undergoing a traditional detoxification process with cow’s milk (godugdha), known as Śodhana. This detoxification technique is a general term used in Ayurveda. Caution is necessary while handling this plant as it is poisonous, and its bark is utilized as an arrow poison, while the seeds are employed to poison fish.
